Isaiah World-Thoughts?

Post by GrantDuck »

Seems like by far the most polarizing player we've had coming into Oregon in terms of evaluation in a long time. I've seen some saying he's a top 10 pick and others saying he won't get drafted and is a weakness on this year's team.

I think part of this is he looks incredible some reps and then not so strong other reps.

I do think there's some major improvement needed in his run blocking, but his pass blocking looks really good. I closely watched his reps against Matayo (good on good) and he pretty much shut Matayo down. When Matayo was going against other dudes, he was blowing up every play.

So for me, I'd say: good pass blocker, great athlete and size needs to get stronger and work on his finishing in the run game. Might have some tough moments but by the end of the year, I think he'll be a top 5-10 tackle nationally and go maybe 2nd round in the draft.

When I watched some of his clips at Nevada he looked good in pass pro and his run blocking wasn't poor, but he's not an explosive mover in the run game. It seemed like that initial contact led to a draw with the defender and then the push started to come from him. Thats probably just where adding more strength will come for him as he's just a large person.
