Re: Evan Stewart season-ending injury rumor?
As they've loooooong said in College Football: The Spring Training Season Taketh, and the Summer Transfer Portal Giveth!
Would be interesting if hes only out for 4-5 months if a November return is something he'd think about or going full medical RS and coming back (transferring) for another year in college vs testing the pros.

I'd be very surprised if he played a down next season given the potential extent of the injury. Safe to say that Sadiq and Dakorien Moore will likely be the team's leading receivers next year. They'll also need McLellan, Dickey, Gresham, Benson and Kasper to produce way more than they have so far.

Everyone keep calm and remember the sprinf/offseason of 2014 with Bralon. Tyson Alger made a great point in his article a few days ago about that.
In a weird way might be a blessing. We know there is "on paper talent" at WR. But sometimes "on-paper talent" needs high volume of reps for things to click. It will be good for Dontae to develop rapport and chemistry with the WR's that aren't known commodities, just like he had to in spring since EStew was so limited.
As with anything in life, attitude determines altitude and there is no time machine to go back and prevent the injury.
Next man up, belief and let's effing go!

Re: Evan Stewart season-ending injury rumor?
One silver lining is the timing of the injury, it’s always rough when a starter is injured like a week before the season starts. If Bedford doesn’t get injured last year resulting in the last minute shuffling of the OLine Idaho and Boise State aren’t close games.
No doubt it’s brutal to lose Stewart, he is our best receiver and was ready to have a huge year, but the injury being this far away from the start of the season allows Moore to develop chemistry with the other receivers.

IDK how Bedford injury erased would have prevented Boise from scoring 34 points.OregonFan4Life wrote: Mon Jun 09, 2025 12:00 pm One silver lining is the timing of the injury, it’s always rough when a starter is injured like a week before the season starts. Re: Evan Stewart season-ending injury rumor?
Fair point, but the Oregon offense was inconsistent that game and TOP heavily favored Boise State. With better OLine play Oregon controls the ball/tempo more giving Boise State less opportunities to score and likely don’t lead to the 14 points off turnovers in the 4th.UOducksTK1 wrote:IDK how Bedford injury erased would have prevented Boise from scoring 34 points.OregonFan4Life wrote: Mon Jun 09, 2025 12:00 pm One silver lining is the timing of the injury, it’s always rough when a starter is injured like a week before the season starts. My point is though the biggest issue with both games were OLine play and lack of chemistry due to injuries and specifically the timing of injuries.

Re: Evan Stewart season-ending injury rumor?
My hope is that he's out for the whole season and comes back for 2026. I think that will be our next best chance to seriously contend anyway, with our starter having a full year of experience and the rest of the offense having more of a chance to gel. Maybe even a stronger O-line by then too, since that seems to still be a concern. If guys can find their stride without him on the field, and then you add him in '26, then that could be really special. Stewart is an absolute home run threat.
Willie Taggart is a dick.

Every projected starter is either a Senior in their last year of eligibility (like that seems to matter) or is Poncho, who is likely a Top 100 pick in the NFL with another good year and you might get to come back with NIL and a loaded Center class.pezsez1 wrote: Mon Jun 09, 2025 1:09 pm My hope is that he's out for the whole season and comes back for 2026. Stewart coming back in November might be the most ideal scenario since if you add in Makai Hughes and Kenyon Sadiq as likely NFL departures. The Portal will giveth and taketh so who TF knows what next years roster will even look like.

Re: Evan Stewart season-ending injury rumor?
Keeping in mind, I am not the guy who looks at the box score every week, but outside of Ohio State, the guy was nonexistent last year if I recall? Then he disappeared the last half of the season, then gets a freak injury before this season even starts............Just saying, based on his production since he arrived, we won't even notice he is not on the field.OregonFan4Life wrote: Mon Jun 09, 2025 12:00 pm One silver lining is the timing of the injury, it’s always rough when a starter is injured like a week before the season starts. A large part of this was the QB. Stewart was going to move into the Tez slot role this year and get a LOT more touches.QuackininBama wrote: Sat Jun 14, 2025 2:15 pmKeeping in mind, I am not the guy who looks at the box score every week, but outside of Ohio State, the guy was nonexistent last year if I recall? The good news is...in the Spring game WR looked amazing and EStew didn't play. Just a matter of who will step up and be most consistent in his place.

Anyone hear or read the progress of his recovery? Guessing thats held pretty close to the chest within the program. Would be amazing if we get him back at full strength and healthy at some point this season.

Re: Evan Stewart season-ending injury rumor?
On Evan Stewart's TikTok account, there's multiple videos of him dancing all the way back in early September and now his latest one from yesterday shows just how well he's moving now. Sounds like the plan is for him to be back for either Iowa or Minnesota so he can qualify for a redshirt still.alxtw wrote: Thu Oct 23, 2025 2:09 amAnyone hear or read the progress of his recovery?
