Our first B1G game that actually felt like a B1G game! In come familiar faces, Jonathan Smith, Aiden Chiles, and the MSU Spartans.
The game started out a little rocky, Oregon gave up a big 4th down conversion before forcing a Chiles fumble at the 1 yard line which was a huge turning point, though Gabriel had a couple of redzone turnovers himself as he learned the hard way B1G defenses are a little tougher than Big-12 defenses. However the offense found success scoring the ball while the defense played lights out. After MSU’s opening drive where they moved the ball they couldn’t find any success as the angry highlighters on Oregon’s defense completely shut down Chiles and the MSU offense. And after getting some mistakes out of the way the Oregon offense managed to score 21 points for Oregon to have a 21-0 lead at the half. At this point the game was over, second half Oregon put things in cruise control, defense continued to stop MSU (until garbage time points) and the second half highlight for Oregon was something we haven’t seen in a while, a 50 yard field goal! By Andrew Boyle. A low drama game, Oregon cruised to an easy 31-10 lead with a perfect 5-0 record.
But as Ducks vs Then came out, we were reminded of how small college football is compared to so many things in life. We love our ducks, no doubt about that, but Lanning is doing more than teaching his players the game of football, he’s teaching them to consider those less fortunate and to never take life for granted. As tears flowed for many ducks fans watching Ducks vs Them, as we thought about the loved ones we lost or watched suffer from the horrible disease, we were able to recognize, that we truly have a remarkable coach. I am so grateful for our coaching staff and leadership at Oregon that recognizes how little the game of football can seem and how there are bigger things in life than Oregon football. We could see how much this night meant to Dan and his family for what they’ve been through, and if there is a message I could get to him, is that this entire community of duck fans loves and supports Dan, Sophia, and their sons and we will always treat them as family. I couldn’t be more grateful that Lanning is the leader of our beloved Oregon football.

Re: 2024 Win 5: Michigan State
Not gonna lie, our first five games were pretty easy. Boise was probably the biggest challenge, but Jeanty is a freak so we'll acknowledge they were tougher than expected going into the season.
And this year our first four games seem comparable to 2024. Until we face a top team in Penn State (like we did with Ohio State after our first five games last year).
