Gundy has really gone from a guy who does one of the most admirable jobs in college football to a guy who's afraid of his own shadow.
He lost his sugar daddy. At one time they were getting just as much money pumped into the program and Uncle Phil puts into ours.

Gundy didn’t want to embrace NIL or the portal, and now they suck. He is very much turning into get off my lawn guy.

While next year’s game will in Stillwater could prove to be a little more interesting, the game on Saturday should be a blowout.
Interesting that according to the data I posted on the Big 10 Expansion thread, Okie St. comes in at #25 in the teams annual revenue/valuation. If they are not competitive in NIL, it seems that it's more likely due to lack of putting together an effective NIL program rather than a lack of potential funding.
I read an article a few months ago that said we were around #6 in NIL spending outranked by teams like Texas, Alabama, etc. There are several teams with big Boosters and deep pockets. It's not just an "Oregon" thing.

Besides, we whipped them 42-31 in the Holiday Bowl back before NIL was ever even a thing. What was his excuse then?

I told y'all Dan has a playful relationship with James.

On another note.

Even though he runs his mouth often, can we take one moment to appreciate Mike Gundy's glory as one of the great characters in college football?

- getting all hopped up on TRT and removing his shirt whenever he can...for a dude in his late 50's
- his luxurious mane of hair...for a dude in his late 50's (not quite the Gundy mullet of the mid 2010's but still...STUNNING)
- being a Walmart Mike Leach and sharing his unique opinions, political correctness be damned
- his generally cavalier approach to disciplining arrested players harkens back to the football powerhouses of the 1980's
- the simple fact he has now technically been a "MAN" for 18 years

At the end of the day y'all, this is still entertainment. From Week 0 through the Natty, we get to put aside our stresses, struggles and challenges to be entertained by extremely athletic 18 to 23-year-olds (or 35 in the case of Cam McCormick) coached by a bunch of mostly alpha male red-asses.

We should enjoy and appreciate the great characters of this game, even when they aren't affiliated with the team we cheer for. Because like Coach Leach (RIP) and LC (enjoy retirement) one day they will be gone.

I certainly don't agree with everything that comes out of Gundy's mouth, nor do I exactly agree with how he approaches player discipline but guess what? I am not an Okie State fan and my opinion doesn't pay Coach Gundy's bills.

Coach Gundy, never change you glorious, goofy bastard!

I can't wait to see next week's Ducks vs Them episode to see how the coaches use Gundy's words for motivation...beat-down coming is my guess.

That clip is awesome and it highlights what I've noticed in other interactions with Crepea. They may have a somewhat "adversarial" relationship, but I do think Lanning respects him and this is a great example of Lanning having some fun at Crepea's expense but also showing grace and restraint.

It's rare to see a coach who's as helpful for journalists as he/she is entertaining for the fans. Lanning walks the line perfectly.
Willie Taggart is a dick.

Oregon going all green for their uniforms this weekend. Pretty bad that Oklahoma State only warranted the default green uniforms while Montana State got the yellow/green/yellow and a new helmet design.

Lanning is basically saying Florence is playing for the nickel position. Not sure if his knee injury has played that much to where we may see him. But could be he wasn’t a Lanning recruit, and he sees better production from his own secondary recruits. Keep in mind (not sure of his name), another DB recruit from the same San Diego HS (please correct me if I’m wrong) that originally signed with UO, with a higher rating at DB than Florence, is now playing WR at a lower end school. Probable Lanning is just bringing in more talent, and there shouldn’t be discussion on recruits brought in prior to what Lanning amassed.

We'll see him in a few weeks. Jalil Tucker now plays for the Beavs.

I may be remembering this wrong, but I thought Lanning had to do some convincing to get Florence to stick around when the exodus of Mario recruits got underway. He decommitted and then came back, along with Dave Iuli.

Florence should be considered a Lanning recruit. The story there is that after Dan took the job, Florence was the kid that Lanning had the most contact with to stick with Oregon, and even called him moments after winning the national championship with Georgia, which is when Florence solidified his commitment.

The other DB is Jalil Tucker, who is now at Oregon State and plays cornerback, and the high school is Lincoln.
