Big Ten Title Game
If somehow the Ducks end up in a tie for second place in the Big Ten and are bound for the playoffs, would you prefer that they play in the title game or get extra rest before the playoffs?

Hopefully, extra rest with a home playoff game

Extra rest with a home playoff game is ideal. We lost Evan Stewart during the B1G title game and that was a brutal loss.

I could be mistaken, but I don’t think Stewart got hurt in the B1G title game. He got hurt in pregame warmups at the Rose Bowl, which hurt even more, because they couldn’t game plan for it. Either way, I don’t really care to b play in the B1G title game. Doesn’t do anything for them, and I think the extended bye is a detriment in the playoff, as you’re facing a team that has momentum while you’ve been sitting on your hands for a month. They really need to move the playoffs up. There’s no reason for that long break after the season.OregonFan4Life wrote: Sun Oct 19, 2025 6:35 pm Extra rest with a home playoff game is ideal. I thought he got hurt in the title game but wasn't completely ruled out until pregame of the Rose Bowl.
Either way, I'm pulling for us to not play for the B1G title and then have a home game for the playoff. I love that we won the B1G last year but we don't need to do that again. It's just not worth it being rusty for the playoffs.

Looks like it was neither of the above. Read back on some articles with quotes from him after. Sounds like the back injury happened in practice between the B1G game and Rose Bowl, but he wasn’t ruled out until pregame warmups.pezsez1 wrote: Sun Oct 19, 2025 8:32 pm I thought he got hurt in the title game but wasn't completely ruled out until pregame of the Rose Bowl.

Rather Oregon get a bye week during championship week and then host a playoff game instead of having a month off between games.

I voted for rest like everyone else so far. But I admit that I want to play Indiana again, one way or another. I just think Lanning and the rest of the coaches will have learned a lot from the Indiana game and a rematch would look very different.

Depends on our seeding. Because too much time off is not ideal either.
Winning Big Ten is cool though. At the end of the day, whatever gets us a National Championship. But if we can't get that, winning our conference is a good consolation prize.

Re: Big Ten Title Game
The "problem" of these CG's has already been discussed so the only "solution" I see is to have teams 1-4 Host their games and then teams will want to play and win a CG instead of trying to game the bracket if they're a lock.
Who cares about the Rose, Fiesta, Sugar or Orange bowls as your "reward" when the teams 5-8 get to play a game at home while you sit and watch. You also will reduce the amount of travel for fans by 50% by letting the home team host a game against the winners in the 1st round.
Then for the Semi's and Final you can have a neutral site, but as designed, we saw there was zero benefit to being the #1-4 seed last year with all the extra time off.

And it's actually possible, isn't it, that with the change made this year to the playoffs, that the Ducks could not be the B1G Conference winner and yet be, say, a #4 seed, so they still wouldn't end up hosting?

I understand why they made the change, but it felt knee-jerk to how things went last year and now the conference games are meaningless unless it's your only path to the playoff, which it won't be for the Big Ten or SEC, and often not for the ACC or Big 12. If I'm the latter two conferences, I'm giving the officials an extra few dollars to get the needy team to the victory.

Re: Big Ten Title Game
Yes and that would be the worst case scenario IMO. If the ducks don’t play in the B1G championship game but get a top 4 seed that’s like 36 days off or something like that. In an ideal world the ducks would get to skip the B1G champ game and get the 5 seed where they can host a G6 team in Autzen.Greenblood wrote: Mon Oct 20, 2025 10:35 am And it's actually possible, isn't it, that with the change made this year to the playoffs, that the Ducks could not be the B1G Conference winner and yet be, say, a #4 seed, so they still wouldn't end up hosting?

Re: Big Ten Title Game
I do genuinely think we should rest, I think it somehow ended helping Ohio State last year, plus if we end up getting a home game in the playoffs it would make it better, IDK if a bye works tho.
