A bunch of Iowa fans on twitter and elsewhere saying throwing stuff at people is a natural reaction to taunting. Maybe the players should just start throwing stuff next time the crowd starts taunting? Just to review:
1. Fans taunt players = okay
2. Players taunt fans in response = not okay
3. Fans throwing stuff at players in response = okay
Iowa logic.

I mentioned to my sister that them throwing the stuff on the field was messed up.
The Iowa fan overhead this and said that they (ducks) deserved it b/c they were taunting.
I said that the ducks shouldn't be taunting but that the fans should be banned for life if you can't show any restraint for throwing things at players.

Don't they have like a section directly behind the bench to intentionally taunt and try to get in players heads all game?UOducksTK1 wrote: Mon Nov 10, 2025 2:32 pmOf course!Alan wrote: Mon Nov 10, 2025 2:21 pmThanks for the great insight on your experiences at the game. My first thought after watching the video of trash being thrown at Duck players. it was completely taunting Iowa fans and they should’ve been happy they weren’t at Arizona dodging full water bottles or batteries. I love this team and coach but the players asked for it, no need to taunt.UOducksTK1 wrote: Mon Nov 10, 2025 1:57 pm I actually did post some notes about it. I would say just folks in general in Cedar Rapids were so friendly and conversational. And we went to Maquoketa Caves State Park and thought it was awesome.
Yeah, Iowa fans were pretty tame most the game except an idiot here or there, so no need for our players to taunt. Though, Penn State I didn't mind.![]()

But the duck players ran to the opposite side of the student section. They also didn’t taunt the section behind them.
It was super random that they ran to the sections they did. I was confused.
