I know overall he’s called a good game but sometimes I just wish he’d go let his talent try to win the game and would stop these gadget plays cause they will frequently be sabotaged by young kids that make mistakes.

I agree. It's like Stein is bound and determined to ignore his team's strengths and do what he wants instead, consequences be damned. And in this case it cost us 3 points.

Looked like that play would have gone for a solid gain. Everybody was locked up down field and the RB had a sizable lane along the sideline….

Play calling matters. Execution also matters.

I don’t know if it’s necessarily ignoring the team’s strengths but just trying to implement his plays more than necessary with the talent we have.

I’ve said this before but I think Stein’s calling is to be an NFL OC, where he can draw up plays and rely on pros without much turnover to run it. Not only are these kids but we have 1 returning starter from last year. But sometimes just feels like it’s too much to expect these young kids to master his offense which includes frequent package/formation changes and gadget plays.

Man that was way too close for comfort. Dan won’t be happy about that.

That was one of the best runs in terms of sheer effort I've ever seen - and it almost ended in Cam Colvin disaster. Thank f*** it didn't.

Guys, guys, guys…y’all really think Stein is running that play if we are not knifing through Minnesota like hot butter? He put that on tape now for future DC’s and will run some options off it.

He’s not running that against tOSU or in a close game.

That would have been a MASSIVE gain. Edge was sealed.

I get the frustration but consider the opponent and situation.

Minnesota is selling out with run blitzes and over pursuit. He was just trying to take advantage.

About what? That was a TD, he got it back just enough.

Overall officiating is probably helping Oregon, Finney got away with a PI and McLellan got away with a hold, but outside of that, what has been so bad?

Well apparently whining is the Minnesota way and it worked on that PI call.

Wow so that’s now two PI’s courtesy of Minnesota’s whining sideline.
