Great weekend to promote the Poly culture in the late recruiting push. All eyes will be on Eugene with Game day and the CBS coverage!Greenblood wrote: Thu Nov 20, 2025 2:14 pm Marcus Mariota announced as GameDay guest picker, just as I think gy figured.
With the most ever (?) coaching changes, there should be a lot of player poaching opportunities in general....

Once they released new Ohana gear last weekend, it was a done deal.Greenblood wrote: Thu Nov 20, 2025 2:14 pm Marcus Mariota announced as GameDay guest picker, just as I think gy figured.

Random USC thoughts:
- playing them has made me nervous since Tony Graziani
- ugh what an entitled, out of touch group of fans and administrators. As I posted earlier in this thread, other than the middle 4 seasons of Pete Carroll’s tenure, they haven’t been relevant for over 30 years. Jen Cohen’s recent letter about “the USC Brand” was an eye roll. But what do you expect from someone who went from Huskyville to the condoms.

Lol. Pete Carroll made a BCS bowl in 7 out of 9 years at USC. Not sure how that translates to "4 years of relevance".bdkipe wrote: Fri Nov 21, 2025 11:26 am Random USC thoughts:

Bowl games don’t equate to relevance. We weren’t relevant in any way shape or form when we finally made the Independence Bowl in 1989.
I’m just saying their fanbase acts like they belong in the exact same breath as the Saban Alabama teams.
They were absolutely incredible under Carroll. So much so that the NCAA saw them as a threat to the SEC Football ATM machine and brought up those bs charges against them to knock them down a peg. I was firmly on SC’s side for that. I also feel like West Coast football is better when they are seriously relevant. (See Pete Carroll)
But Pete Carroll hasn’t been there since 2010.
I’m not discounting what they did. But they are not one of the 10 best programs in the country over the last 15 years. If you go by wins they rank 21st since 2010. Even if you go back to 2003 and add back their vacated wins they still trail Oregon by 1-2 total wins and we had some seriously mid years. (2003, 2004, 2006, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2020).
I’m not saying they don’t deserve flowers, I am saying they are the equivalent of 65yr old IBM execs turning up their noses at Apple, Google and Amazon in dismissing teams like Oregon as a “fad”.
How is USC football working out now that there are 2 NFL teams in LA and the Dodgers are a must-see?

He said 7 out of 9 years were BCS bowls. That certainly equates to relevance.bdkipe wrote: Fri Nov 21, 2025 1:22 pm Bowl games don’t equate to relevance. We weren’t relevant in any way shape or form when we finally made the Independence Bowl in 1989.

Every time I hear USC referred to as the condoms it reminds me of the Stanford band. Circa 1970 Stanford had an all america LB named Jeff Siemon, and the Stanford band unfurled a poster: "Trojans can't stop Siemon."

Hate this, but we’re so lucky Sadiq can stretch the field.StevensTechU wrote:ESPN is reporting that neither Dakorien Moore nor Gary Bryant will play.
