Would be really funny if Dan is indeed screwing with everyone.

Certainly does not sound like he's committed to staying at Oregon next year.

Summary of a Grok query FWIW...
Stewart hasn't made a final decision on declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft (deadline is January 15, 2026), but in recent interviews, he's leaning toward redshirting 2025 and returning to Oregon for the 2026 college season to rebuild his value with a full year of play.
si.com +1
He mentioned the NFL is still an option based on his athletic testing (he could wow at the combine with his speed), but he "sees himself in college for another year" and is excited about potentially teaming up again with QB Dante Moore if Moore returns.
247sports.com +1
Transferring is also on the table, though less likely. Coach Dan Lanning has been cryptic but supportive, emphasizing Stewart's growth off the field. If he declares anyway, expect a Day 3 pick with boom-or-bust potential; teams like the Cowboys, Cardinals, or Broncos (needing speed threats) could gamble on him. A return to college would likely restore him to first-round status for 2027. Watch for updates after the playoffs—his status could shift if he gets on the field soon.
espn.com
My take; he is either holding back announcing his decision to generate attention garnering suspense like top recruits do, or he is waiting for Dante Moore to announce his decision. He went from a projected 1st rounder to a day 3 prospect. I think he comes back with Dante(?) to get the natty and get his draft stock back up to elite, but that's just my gut...

The part of the article I was referring to:
If Stewart returns to college football, would playing anywhere other than Oregon be possible?

“I don’t know about that one,” he said.

I don't understand your confusion. He's saying "I don't know about [playing anywhere other than Oregon]" which implies he only considers returning to Oregon if he doesn't turn pro.

I didn't realize I was confused. I understand Stewart to be saying, in answer to the question, that if he returns to college next year he doesn't know if it will be at Oregon or someplace else.

I think it's most likely Stewart will return to college next year and it will be at Oregon. But he sounds somewhat indecisive at this point.

Not trying to anger anyone here, but can I point out the obvious?

So he transfers here, from Texas A&M, which is an excellent program, then gets injured, and is out for a year, then comes back and gets another mystery injury and no matter how much time goes by it seems he is never ready to play and I was almost confused. I mean, I have seen players tear their achilles and be back sooner then this kid, but no matter how much time goes by, he never seems ready to play.

So I have actually never seen the kid not in uniform until today. So sorry, not judging or nothing, but does anyone else think maybe he is just not adjusting to this level of football because he is gay? I mean, lets face it, a locker room of BIG 10 players is the top 1% of alpha males on the flipping planet, so I get if he is not adjusting. But the kid is a generational talent, but no matter where he goes it seems he can't play there.

I honestly think the kid can ball out, he is an excellent football player, but the more time goes by it seems he may never actually play another football game.

Hold up, what? He had 600 yards and 5 TDs for us last year, there is no adjustment period, what are you getting at?

He hasn't played a game in over a calendar year, and appears he won't play again this year. That would make it, what, 18 months before he plays again? I find it unusual is all.

This might be the most embarrassing post I’ve seen on this forum. Ignorant and weird. I honestly felt like it was a troll/hacked post.

You are joking me…. It’s never good when you have to start and say I’m not judging.
Next time please think before you post. First off who cares. Second off where would that even come from?
He literally said he wants to play soon. Same with Dan. He will be back. Major injury.
Do better my man. Gosh.

So much in this post is confusing. Maybe I’m missing a random game, but I swear he played in every game last season until a back injury right before the playoff caused him to miss that game. He also had a couple of decently productive years at A&M for an underclassmen, so I don’t see where the issues adjusting are. Regarding this year, you’re telling me you’ve seen players come back in 6 months from Achilles tears? That’s pretty incredible. Also seems fairly unrealistic to expect a guy to come back from a torn patellar tendon in 6 months, which is his actual injury.

Ignoring all that, where are you coming to the conclusion that he’s gay? Not that it matters at all whether he is, but are you just jumping to that conclusion because he makes tik tok dance videos, or what are you basing it off? I’m really just curious where this theory out of left field comes from. This is probably the most nonsensical thing I’ve ever read on a message board, and I’ve seen some crazy stuff. Haha.

In summary, he played a full season, and then missed a playoff game because he was struggling with being gay, and then is taking 6 months to recover from a torn patellar tendon due to his continued struggles with being gay.

Did you have a few drinks before writing this? None of what you wrote tracks with what is known about Evan Stewart.
