What a day. What is it now? Nine out today so far and one in? These guys know the portal closes in five days don't they?

If I'm Dan Lanning, I'm having a very serious conversation with guys to say "We understand your decision, just know that if you have a good year then next offseason we're going to be trying to bring you back to Oregon."

No, the Portal for the Ducks players closes like the 25th since all players in the Playoffs get a 15-day extension from their last game. IU and UM players would be like February 8th or something.

The point about the Portal at-large though stands and is why players left early before Tech and IU because not all of them are Sam Leavitt.

Wouldn't be surprised to see that happen eventually.

If you’re insinuating they don’t have time to find a home, that’s not true. Entering the portal closes in 5 days, but players don’t need to sign with another school prior to then.

Google is telling me the extra five day window is only for teams playing in the National Championship. But AI Goggle has been getting some things wrong, so it may be mistaken.

Sort of thinking teams will try to wrap up their portaling quickly but that isn't necessarily true, though kids won't be able to add classes past a certain date, and I imagine those signing later will have to be away from school. Thanks!

There’s also the spring portal, which is when we got Derrick Harmon.

Feels like the backups are negotiating as a unit.

When you play the starters a majority of the snaps. The backups leave. Do you want 3 1st rounders and a 2-3rd rounder back? Or do you want the guys who are talented, but JMu made look like a bunch of backups?

A post that will be out-of-date by the time I publish it. Not a 2-deep but instead who I imagine would see playing time in 2026 based on who is left on the roster.

QB: Dante Moore
RB: Jordon Davison, Dierre Hill, Dajuan Riggs
OL: Fox Crader, Kawika Rogers, Poncho, Dave Iuli, Gernorris Wilson, Trent Ferguson (hard maybes: Zac Stauscasky, Ziyare Addison, Iheanacho, Tofi, and Utu)
WR: Evan Stewart, Dakorien Moore, Jeremiah Mclellan, Jalen Lott, Hudson Lewis (maybe: Dillon Gresham)
TE: Kenyon Sadiq, Jamari Johnson, Roger Saleapaga (maybe: Andrew Olesh, Kendre Harrison)

Punter: Bailey Ettridge
Placekicker: Gage Hurych

OLB/Edge: Teitum, Matayo, Nasir Wyatt, Elijah Rushing, Tank Jones
Interior DL: Bear, A'Mauri, Terrance Green, Matthew Johnson, Aydin Breland
LB: Mixon, Devon Jackson, Brayden Platt, Dylan Williams, (Maybe: Gavin Nix)
Nickel: Na'eem Offord, Trevon Watson, Devin Jackson
Safety: Aaron Flowers, Dillon Thieneman, Trey McNutt, Peyton Woodyard
Cornerback: Ify, Finney Jr, Dorian Brew (maybe: Davon Benjamin)

You hold your breath around nickel and linebacker. Running back depth is a problem. Tight end is an embarrassment of riches. Interior DL needs depth. Overall a lot less depth than we had this year but we have a number of scholarships to fill before this is over, as this is just a point in time.

There's no longer a spring portal. That said, portals are not legally binding and can be challenged in court.

Let’s cross our fingers we let Koi and find a portal LB, IDL and OT. Maybe Harris returns and gives us some depth at RB, though I’m excited about Ball. Also been saying it since he signed, Jett Washington will be a dude.

That’s a bummer and kind of confusing, spring seems like a good time for a portal widow. Better than a window starting before the season is over….

STU, I think you forgot about Tradarian Ball (at both RB and WR), Gatlin Bair, Messiah Hampton, Tony Cumberland, Xavier Lharrisse, and Jett Washington.

He mentions those he sees as getting PT. Do you foresee any of them getting that, at this time?
