The irony there is that we have plenty of outside receivers (usually taller) and lack slot receivers (usually shorter). Stewart, Moore, McLellan, etc. all are striders who play in space, not guys who operate in the box.alxtw wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 9:04 am I wondering if we'll go for some taller WRs in the portal. (A shame Cam Coleman signed with tx) As much as I like our WRs, none of our WRs next year will be over 6'1.
Looking back at some of the past teams in the championship and the Indiana team this year, their starting WR corp usually consisted of 6'2-6'4 WRs that were explosive and/or sure handed.

Re: Oregon Football - 2026 Transfer Portal
I said it a few pages ago, but I’ll say it again. I still think the commitment of Raiola indicates Dante’s return. I think Leavitt was always our guy if Dante left. The timeline of both their recruitments and them both being linked to Oregon when they entered the portal. Raiola commits this morning, then Leavitt immediately commits to LSU right after.
Also, the hits we just took at D line is tough. The days of being able to stockpile high end talent is over. When you recruit a lot of high end talent, those 2nd and 3rd string guys are going to want to start, especially if they are highly rated kids coming out of high school. It’s just the nature of the beast. The only way those guys stay is if matayo, tuioti, Washington and bear don’t come back. It’s obvious we’d rather have all our starters back. Go get a few plug and play interior and edge guys for next year with some veteran experience. That’s the new way.

WR Iverson Hooks (UAB) committed to Oregon over Indiana and others. We got our "not fast but quick" slot guy.

Re: Oregon Football - 2026 Transfer Portal
From the very early analysis of Bennett I've seen on Twitter, he played at RT at Yale but he supposedly projects as a OG long-term. That could provide some positional versatility depending on what Oregon keeps adding via the portal and how their current players develop.StevensTechU wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 8:58 am Ivy League players have underwhelmed after transfers in the limited history of the portal/grad transfers, but averages don't matter to the individual. Hopefully he's a stalwart. I'm actually more interested in what the Ducks do at guard this year because that's going to have the bigger impact on the run game.

Re: Oregon Football - 2026 Transfer Portal
Oregon's 4th commit of the day is from Baylor S Carl Williams IV. He was a starter his first two seasons but missed nearly the entire 2025 season with an injury. Seems like a solid depth piece who could turn into something more if he stays healthy.

Chances of more Ducks entering the portal should be low. Now we need word from the draft eligible players, most specifically D. Moore and E Stew.

Since it's been 5 days, I'm gonna assume this was rumor only.

AJ Harris committed to Indiana so the rumor of him being committed to Oregon was false.

Looking at a available LB in the portal, it's looking kinda slim.
Uluave is still there, but quite a drop after that.

Re: Oregon Football - 2026 Transfer Portal
Our LB coach said he doesn't want to go to portal for talent, but wants to develop high school recruits. Not saying we won't get anyone from portal, especially now with Mothudi transferring, but I could see us relying on Mixon/Williams/Jackson/Nix and not going for a big name guy. Aka settling for some depth.bellsduck wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 2:34 pm Looking at a available LB in the portal, it's looking kinda slim.

Re: Oregon Football - 2026 Transfer Portal
Sometimes people say that and what they mean is just that a guy isn't very fast, when in fact he's not very fast AND he's not very strong so he won't be a great guard either. No idea if that's the case here.greenyellow wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 1:20 pmFrom the very early analysis of Bennett I've seen on Twitter, he played at RT at Yale but he supposedly projects as a OG long-term. Re: Oregon Football - 2026 Transfer Portal
TE Roger Saleapaga II has entered the portal. TE room is basically going to be all new next season.
