Oregon keeping their starters is almost feeling like pyrrhic win as they're losing everyone else behind them. Wouldn't be shocked if some of these guys end up at Cal with Tosh. Have to think they now need 3-4 DL in the portal to have a chance at a title run.

We're actually in really rough shape at DT now. Washington, Bear, Green is as formidable as any, but the drop off between those first two and Matt Johnson is stark. I also think Green is a future NFL player.

But it’s very unlikely. It seldom happens.HomeSickDuck wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 8:52 pmYes they can.TheDrake wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 8:47 pm Can these portal guys still come back sfter checking their value?

Really wondering what the heck went on in the postseason meetings after the Peach Bowl for nearly the entire DL room to think they needed to bounce. Not sure where they turn to for DL help as the portal at IDL is really picked through since Oregon couldn't add players during the CFP run.StevensTechU wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 8:57 pm We're actually in really rough shape at DT now. Man… it’s hard to get too excited about the additions when they’re sandwiched by multiple key guys leaving.

JMU is picking up a kid from West Florida that I really, really like. I'm fairly sure we can pay more than JMU but I don't know anyone on the staff anymore to send a text to.greenyellow wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 9:04 pmReally wondering what the heck went on in the postseason meetings after the Peach Bowl for nearly the entire DL room to think they needed to bounce. But who knows. I imagine to some degree a guy like Terrance Green is making $100k and Tionne Gray tells him that he got a $300k offer and Green thinks he should go so he makes the same. Personally, I try to think of these things in employment terms as much as possible because I think it's the most realistic, least emotional view. I haven't jumped at every job that offered me a little bit more money, but I wouldn't think twice about a job that pays 3x without any additional hours.

Oregon will basically have to rebuild the QB, RB, WR, TE, OL, DL, and DB rooms this offseason. Not sure if they can get it done while remaining a top CFP contender.

These losses wouldn't hurt so much if Oregon had been hitting DL recruiting hard but they've only signed Johnson and Cumberland the last couple cycles.StevensTechU wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 9:13 pmJMU is picking up a kid from West Florida that I really, really like. I don't think we've ever had less of an idea what the team will look like 2 years out. We've lost virtually all of our 2027 starters that were on the roster.greenyellow wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 9:17 pm Oregon will basically have to rebuild the QB, RB, WR, TE, OL, DL, and DB rooms this offseason. Assuming Dante and Sadiq come back, we also will have never had a more talented 1st string. It's a weird and unfortunate tradeoff.

With a defensive minded head coach I always thought DL and LB would be stacked with talent and depth. I don't know what is going on.

Re: Oregon Football - 2026 Transfer Portal
Oregon has basically lost some of the most talented parts of the 2024 class, who were viewed as the likely future of the program. Now it's going to come down the portal and them getting the 2025 and 2026 classes to contribute way earlier than expected.StevensTechU wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 9:22 pmI don't think we've ever had less of an idea what the team will look like 2 years out. Re: Oregon Football - 2026 Transfer Portal
Have any of these defensive lineman transfers been interviewed? Seems odd to lose all these guys at once.
