Okay, fine, but does that justify killing him? I am not a fan of all of these posthumous attempts to assasinate the dude's character as if that makes ending his life okay. I assumed while watching the earlier videos that a myriad of unheard expletives were pouring from all of their mouths. I also wonder if they were telling Pretti during that wrestling match on the ground that he was under arrest, or maybe the woman on whose behalf he seemed to be interceding and to what degree he was resisting either his own arrest or hers. That's why an investigation would be beneficial. A lot of context we still don't know.
This video is interesting, and it does confirm that he was not just 'observing' and that he was not some paragon of virtue as he has been depicted here and elsewhere. He contributed to the escalation of the situation. It doesn't justify him being shot numerous times. CPB agents still have a lot to answer for, and I hope there is a court case or some kind of serious investigation. Not by DHS, who have released ridiculous statements on the matter thus far and clearly lack anything like objectivity.
It's a similar situation as the Ashley Babbitt shooting. The only difference is that Ashley was never violent with law enforcement. Unfortunately for Babbitt, she was surrounded by a group of people who were engaged in criminal activity and so, while I think that the officer in that case was less justified to use deadly force on her than in the Minnesota example, I don't think he should have been charged for it. While I think the officer in the Babbitt case was more reckless (although still TBD based on what the ICE officer knew about Pretti), neither of these situations should cause a media/national uproar is my take.
But I don't think this is the relevant question for this situation. This is a symptom of much deeper problem.
Why wasn't Pretti arrested and charged with obstruction? Why did Minnesota police not make any attempt to arrest Pretti (because they purpsefully withdrew...why?)? Why wasn't his concealed carry license revoked for obstruction of LEO's?
Why didn't the media/public make a national uproar when an ANTI-ICE individual targeted and assisnated three people specifically because they were in an ICE van? Why weren't there protests against this targeted assisnantion and the violence/obstruction/doxxing/stalking faced by ICE officers on a daily basis?
Why did local/state government officials publicly denounce ICE and and ICE agents after such targeted assisnantions occured? Seems like reckless rhetoric that may lead to further violence against ICE agents?
