recruiting Violations: First Sarkisian, now Kiffin

Post by fpsduck »

News has broken that Washington has already self-reported secondary recruiting violations when the UW staff reportedly broke a rule regarding simulating game-day environments. That violation occurred when a fog machine was rented and recruits were introduced as they ran out of a tunnel onto the field at Husky Stadium on a recent visit.

Now, Tennessee has reported a secondary recruiting violation, and it also involves the renting of a fog machine and the simulation of game-day environments.

It is tough not to at least connect the dots between Sarkesian and Kiffin, and wonder if they may have picked up a recruiting technique or two from their former boss, renowned recruiter Pete Carroll.

gee, I wonder where they learned this?

Well, there is some article I saw a link for over on EDUCK that quotes a recruit describing the same type of "Gameday simulation" going on for them during his recent visit to USC. Of course they are doing it. USC gets away with it like always however.

Not surprising.

And being a private institution, they sure as hell won't self report.

Be careful while throwing stones in your glass house. The Ducks have had plenty of minor infractions themselves.

We aren't Probation Nation. The contrast between Ty Willy's clean program and Sark's cavalier approach could not be more apparent.

And this whole "the NCAA is waiting on court documents" is a sham. Whether USC actually knew about Bush's profiting from his status at USC, the compliance department there "should have known."

USC, in the center of about as much temptation as there is, purposely runs a lazy compliance department so that they can play:

Sark at UW hasn't been "hit with recruiting violations" either. Both articles are about the programs (UW and UO) turning themselves in for minor infractions ... seems like apples and apples to me.

There is a major difference here in that the coaching staff at Oregon did not facilitate the occurances noted in the register guard link.

Sark has had two already that were both directly the fault of his staff.

So yes, I feel I can say he's an idiot.

Good point ... somehow I was overlooking that fact. Thanks!
