Oregon’s defense is fine. Once again Tosh, Hamp and Dan making a team rely on what they don’t want to rely on to move the ball. When that happens, the opposing team might move the ball occasionally, but ultimately they can’t sustain it. How many times this year have we seen a team had their preferred mode of offense taken away? The o my team that figured it out was Indiana. We took away their R on the RPO and they killed us with short precise passes. Everyone other team has had to do things they aren’t comfortable doing. JMU doesn’t want to pass, but we are daring them to.

Exactly right, no disrespect to JMU, but the caliber of player is going to be much more advanced than what we are facing now. TTU’s defense has been called the best that money can buy. Stein has always had trouble with aggressive defenses and if Ducks defense plays this way against a competent QB, game over. I hope they figure that out before new years

For what it's worth, TTU's offense is rated 35th in the country in FEI and JMU is 41st. JMU puts up more points per game but these are opponent-adjusted figures.

I won’t blame Dante for taking the NFL money but this game solidifies to me that he ain’t ready for the NFL, especially at a team like the Raiders that won’t protect him. He is just so inconsistent, he’ll make an amazing throw to JMac to get into the redzone then will miss a wide open Sadiq in the back of the endzone and float into a pick like that.

This game is once again displaying the negative tendancy for Lanning's team to fail to truly close games out in a dominant fashion. They just cannot seem to maintain focus for a full 60 minutes against lesser opponents and that shows up on the scoreboard every time. Against near peer opponents it leads to Ls as we saw against Indiana. This is what worries me about a game against Texas Tech - we won't have played a team as good as that outside of the Hoosiers all year.

Edit: Just as I hit submit the Ducks again give up a touchdown after failing to pressure the quarterback and failing to cover receivers properly.

I have no problem beating JMU by 20 instead of 40 in exchange for getting guys like Brayden Platt and Terrance Green reps that are going to help them in 2026.
