I have no problem beating JMU by 20 instead of 40 in exchange for getting guys like Brayden Platt and Terrance Green reps that are going to help them in 2026.
I think Green has played the entire game. I know I saw him in the first qtr.

This game is once again displaying the negative tendancy for Lanning's team to fail to truly close games out in a dominant fashion. They just cannot seem to maintain focus for a full 60 minutes against lesser opponents and that shows up on the scoreboard every time. Against near peer opponents it leads to Ls as we saw against Indiana. This is what worries me about a game against Texas Tech - we won't have played a team as good as that outside of the Hoosiers all year.
Edit: Just as I hit submit the Ducks again give up a touchdown after failing to pressure the quarterback and failing to cover receivers properly.
JMU is screwing themselves. Lanning is ready to call the dawgs off, but JMU wants to fight to the end...........ok, well, Lanning will keep the starters out there until they put 70 on the board.

JMU is a ranked team. Vegas set points at -20.5. We are ahead by 28. I feel like some on here have to be trolls. No real football fan can be this unreasonable, can they?

Green and Gray are getting more snaps than usual tonight. Might have to do with the score, but might be because of the club on Bear Alexander's hand.
But really, name any back up. Oregon isn't going to lose this and it's a great opportunity for next year's contributors to play a ranked team.
Edit: For the love of god, a Dante Moore injury would eliminate our playoff chances. Take him out, Dan.

Another 3 and out. Total lack of focus once we have a lead. Not going to work against non-G5 playoff teams.

U of Duck welcome to the board.
We can rush for 500 yards on the ground against tOSU in the Natty and STU will bitch about the crappy Oline
OF4L will hate on Stein even if we get 600 yards of total offense
5-6 other guys will hate on the D anytime another team averages over 2.0 ypp.
I legitimately love the people on here and what they bring, and I give plenty of crap, but this year has been really, really negative…and we are about to be 12-1 with a playoff win, a Top 5 ranking AND in a rebuilding year with a young team.
It boggles the mind.

Hell no, he needs to play to the end. This is what its going to take to beat TT, and they are going to be rusty. Lets get the advantage NOW!!!

Woodyard has the most inconsistent effort of anyone on this team, Lanning gonna make that dude run stairs after the game.

And some people are not living in reality when it is staring them in the face. You have a right to your opinion, but so do we so calm on down. Even if they lose, I root for the ducks, but I live in reality and Stein ain’t great, he is good. With elite talent, are you struggle against NW, Iowa, and Penn State. That is not a top caliber coordinator, mark my words 5 years or less Kentucky will be looking for a new coach.

Just a reminder for everyone JMU is keeping their starters in and goin all out (which they should, it’s their last game) while Lanning is trying to figure out what sort of depth he has next year on the defense. I don’t think I’ve seen the starters on defense play less this season.

Most of the starters are still in the game on defense, and the miscues and fundamental mistakes are just getting worse as the game goes on. That's the mental side of the game biting us in the ass and that's what I'm most worried about. Teams with national title aspirations don't perform like this and they certainly don't give up repeated scores to an inferior opponent. That's 26 points given up now and close to 400 yards of offense against a G5 team.

At this point..........yep, no arguments here. They are embarrassing us and we have no answers.

What I am going to say is extreme, and just a theory. BUT….
I truly think Dan is trying to figure out who on the defensive reserves he wants to keep and who he wants to encourage to go to the portal. A lot of the JMU offensive success isn’t that they’re faster or more athletic than our backups, our young backups are playing sloppy and undisciplined with real lack of effort. I saw Purchase, Ify, and Woodyard give up big plays that drive simply due to lack of effort and fundamentals. It wouldn’t surprise me if Lanning tells someone like Woodyard to look elsewhere this offseason after the very inconsistent effort he’s given tonight.
I’m sure Lanning is very discouraged, a lot of these guys are playing for spots next season, so you’d think they give everything they have, and to see a poor effort like this certainly makes you question their role on the team next season.
