BTW, yes, we won, but we shouldn't overlook one of most obvious targeting calls I've ever seen and according to the refs, "nothing to see here". I hope Dan submits that to the league. That is the very definition of targeting.

This! And there’s rumors Limar is seriously injured. That was egregious and the officials, replay officials, and Penn State player should be suspended. Penn St was head hunting and that does not belong in football.

Really? Haven’t seen that he was injured. He popped right up

F!@k Penn State and F!@k their fans. As far as I’m concerned our players flipping them off was for SA survivors everywhere.
I hope this is a joke. The kids in the student section that were getting flipped off weren't even alive when Sandusky worked at Penn State, and they weren't old enough to be apologists for anything in 2011 when he was indicted. I doubt most of them even remember Jo Pa, who died almost 14 years ago.
100% agree, plus even if they were around when it happened doesn’t mean it’s OK for Oregon players to flip them off. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

Stein won't catch a lot of heat because we won, but there's not a lot of excuses for only putting up 3 points in a half in such a big game; nor are we going to win a lot of big games [post season] playing like that in the 1st half.

You have 1 of the best QB's in the country, a serviceable OL, some really good WR's, and the RB rotation where there's a talented player or 2 in that crowded room. Yet, I have to watch our QB put his body on the line just to sustain drives [and then stall out anyways].

Don't get me wrong, I'm really happy we pulled this out. Dan and the players put their hearts into this one, and it's a tough environment. But this offense has to be more productive than this if we want to do it for Phil this year [and I think the talent is there to do it].

Every game is different so I had zero problems in the moment and zero problems in hindsight with our approach to playing a ball-control, risk averse offensive game-plan since we continuously kept moving the ball by taking what we could against them.

1st Drive (6 plays): Punt after Jamari Johnson false start opposite playside.
2nd Drive (11 plays): Stalls and turnover on downs short of the sticks at PSU 38.
3rd Drive (9 plays): Missed FG
4th Drive (10 plays): Made FG
5th Drive (6 plays): Halftime
6th Drive (10 plays): TD
7th Drive (10 plays): TD
8th Drive (6 plays): Punt after Harkey penalty
9th Drive (4 plays): End Reg.

This was the first game where I thought not have Stewart or Dallas Wilson hurt us. One of those two, and we score another 7-14 pts.

Imagine what this team would look like with Evan Stewart. Kinda crazy how good that offense would be.

I don’t agree with the Stein angst.

Admittedly, I don’t have anywhere near the x-o, let’s go break down the all-22 tech knowledge like some on here have.

But, sometimes you have to go with simple solutions.

Knowles is known for disguising what he wants to do pre-snap and he mixes and hides looks better than most.

It looks like Stein went with more conservative formations and play calls that forced Knowles to tip his hand pre-snap.

I mean, if Stein shows an obvious WR screen look, Knowles is going to have to roll bodies over there to make sure they get a hat on a hat, or else we have numbers. I think that is one of the reasons Dante wasn’t sacked.

Stein called plays to take away one of Knowles’ favorite weapons and for most of the night when it become body on body, we won the matchup.

Conversely, Kotelnicki had to finally resort to running fly sweeps and various play combos of off that against a gassed Oregon D to have any success.

That tells me what he thinks about his guys vs our guys.

I have no idea. What's the normal recovery time from a torn patellar tendon?

Buckeyes only managed 7 in the first half at UW, and they ended up finding their way. And like OSU, the Ducks made some adjustments at the half. That’s all you can ask.

Stein called a great game IMHO. Anyone questioning him still, just wants to live in fantasy land. Chip had way worse games in big games during his time. Boise x2, Auburn, Stanford, LSU.

They were determined to take away anything deep, and they tackled really well. The only RB I saw breaking tackles was our guy Hill. Davison obviously, but his roll is short yardage and TDs. The CB play was elite also for PSU, not as elite as our CB who gave up zero catches. Amazing to me. A TRUE FRESHAN IS GIVNG
UP NOTHING THROUGH 5 games. For those of us that remember Gibson and the other guy, who gave up like 500 yards a game as Fr. This is amazing.

Depending on the extent of the damage 12 W-1 year. Big difference is full vs partial tear

Upon watching extended duck highlights of the game, that play in OT where Moore read that the screen was covered and rolled out before hitting Bryant for a first down reminded me of the 2014 Michigan State game when Marcus had that key pitch to Freeman for a big 3rd down conversion when the screen was covered by MSU.
