They were determined to take away anything deep, and they tackled really well. The only RB I saw breaking tackles was our guy Hill. Davison obviously, but his roll is short yardage and TDs. The CB play was elite also for PSU, not as elite as our CB who gave up zero catches. Amazing to me. A TRUE FRESHAN IS GIVNG
UP NOTHING THROUGH 5 games. For those of us that remember Gibson and the other guy, who gave up like 500 yards a game as Fr. This is amazing.
Finney and Obidegwu are already excellent DBs. Finney's closing speed is absurd. Offord is going to be a great one as well with a little more seasoning. Thieneman did blow the coverage on that long touchdown pass, but other than that he has been all over the place including climbing the ladder to intercept a ball a lot of previous safeties at Oregon might have only tipped.

I still think we are a couple guys away from having a top tier LB core. Mixon and Boettcher have to play way to much. Both were pretty worn down by the end of the game.

Bear Alexander played up to his ability, probably the best game of his career.

Malik Benson wasnt anywhere in the stat sheet but he was running his guy ragged and clearing out the intermediate areas for Sadiq an Bryant all night. He definitely got his steps in with all those post/go routes he ran.

Moore has all the hallmarks of a Stein QB. No backbreaking mistakes, no turnovers. accurate on time throws. I hope he stays another year because he will be truly deadly by the end of the year.

Dierre Hill is a star in the making. He has that Barner level break away burst that few duck backs, even the great ones, have. Every time he touches the ball it feels like he could take it to the house. Davison already has an NFL body.

Dak. Moore is everything as advertised. the catch he had against Harris when he high pointed the ball above his head was pure cinema.

Most of these guys are just 17-19 years old. This is a rebuilding year is the craziest part.

Oregon's creative team is trolling Penn State with an instrumental version of Mo Bamba on the Ducks vs Them trailer.

Penn State is in a really tough spot now. They still have Ohio State and Indiana on their schedule. In 2024, no 3-loss teams made the playoffs, and that includes teams with top 15 wins, which Penn State won't have. So not only will Penn State have to run the table against the middle and lower end of the Big Ten (Iowa, Nebraska, UCLA, etc), but they will have to at least split their games between these two top teams. They get Ohio State on the road but Indiana at home.

Anyway, there's a realistic shot that Penn State isn't in the playoffs when all is said and done.

Penn st also has @IA, a baseball game as a fan I sat next to on the flight put it. I see 3 losses for them. Probably out of POs with that.

Re-watching the game, at 13:59 in the 2nd I am 100% convinced that the mics picked me up doing to OOOOOOO yell from the middle of the whiteout. If not near enough I did similar the entire game. I gave PSU a slice of autzen.

I was literally chanting "DUCKS VS THEM!" within seconds of the game ending haha.

Going to my brother's later tonight after putting the kid to bed so we can watch it with a bit of whiskey.

It strikes me that it must be demoralizing for Penn State to have leveraged their home field and pulled out every method of intimidation they could think of and not only did they still lose, but they lost in double overtime, when their advantage should have been at its peak. It is possible that if they watch this week's installment of Ducks Vs. Them, they may conclude that their efforts had the opposite effect to the one they were intending.

Listening to some of their fans on Ducks Vs Them I'm not sure that the obvious ones would have that much personal reflection. Also, while I was previously in the camp of so what regarding flipping the bird to PSUs student section right after the win I am now in the camp of wow, some of those fans more than deserved that.

My sympathy dropped precipitously after my in stadium experience as well. I was just to the right of that section. Husky fans have less presumption of their own superiority.

Don’t defend Husky fans. 36 years into my love of this team and every Saturday in the fall I still want a meteor to hit “the best setting in college football”. Eff them.
