Great vid as always! And mad props to Lanning for exposing these young Ducks to such a cinematic masterpiece. Strength and honor!

If it was 4th and 9, sure it’s a coincidence, but it’s not a coincidence when it’s 4th and 4.Phalanx wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2024 1:52 am Yeah, looks like all the talking heads were right; there's no possible way they did that punt formation to draw a penalty. It's just a big coincidence.
To paraphrase Coach Bellotti, maybe I dont know enough about football to ask this question but..OregonFan4Life wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2024 10:58 pmIf it was 4th and 9, sure it’s a coincidence, but it’s not a coincidence when it’s 4th and 4.Phalanx wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2024 1:52 am Yeah, looks like all the talking heads were right; there's no possible way they did that punt formation to draw a penalty. That’s a good question, and I probably am not the best person to answer, but I think it’s cause he’s used to lining up in front of someone, usually a guard, but only the C was available to line up in front of, so he naturally lined up in front of the C rather than what felt like no man’s land. I’m sure someone else can shed way more light on the strategy on this though, but one thing I do know, that was a genius move by Lanning!spacefrog13x wrote: Thu Nov 07, 2024 11:00 amTo paraphrase Coach Bellotti, maybe I dont know enough about football to ask this question but..OregonFan4Life wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2024 10:58 pmIf it was 4th and 9, sure it’s a coincidence, but it’s not a coincidence when it’s 4th and 4.Phalanx wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2024 1:52 am Yeah, looks like all the talking heads were right; there's no possible way they did that punt formation to draw a penalty. Shouldn't the Michigan guy know to never line up directly over the center on a scrimmage kick play? I know Lanning and Co saw something on film and its referenced in Ducks vs Them, but what was it specifically about the formation that caused the Michigan player to screw up his alignment?
I want to see them try this again in a similar situation. 4th and less than five yards in the middle of the field. or maybe they will actually run a fake if the linemen sets up correctly, who knows.OregonFan4Life wrote: Thu Nov 07, 2024 11:05 amThat’s a good question, and I probably am not the best person to answer, but I think it’s cause he’s used to lining up in front of someone, usually a guard, but only the C was available to line up in front of, so he naturally lined up in front of the C rather than what felt like no man’s land.
