Re: Any guesses on the end of this class?
I'm surprised Cristobal is still after Washington after he got ejected and was fighting with his coaches, but he's an insane talent and we seem to be trending in the right direction. He visits this weekend. Cristobal is maybe testing the strength of the culture he's built, but then again the kid comes from a really rough background and we don't know the full story. What I do know is that he would feast in our offense.

Lol, not bad to finish with 4 of the top 20 recruits in the nation. I don’t expect it but recruiting is always about dreaming.

Is this like a personal inside source giving you this info or is it from a duck insider or something like that?jimmy12 wrote:I am hearing Sewell lock. Trending washingron, flowe... and ringo (been mia since his visit)

No inside... just the speculation that’s sold by the recruiting sites. I know they want another TE (Rogers or Washington) , DT (a few coming to visit), CB (Ringo or Dontae) and 1-2 LBs (Sewell and Flowe if he wants to come... but if not, likely only Sewell). There has also been mention of potentially a transfer QB (not sure of name). 5 -6 more (but obviously a 6th would have to count against another class)

Sewell is seeming more and more like a Oregon commit. Although some are saying he is throwing the “O” for his highschool team, he is still telling Oregon gloves.pudgejeff wrote:Or please do not, seems like a bad idea.jimmy12 wrote:Woah— tell us more about the gun incident?

That’s what I thought at first; their school literally uses the Oregon O as their logo. He was clearly trying to be discreet about it though, so it definitely makes you think he was throwing it for Oregon and not Orem.brich75 wrote:Sewell is seeming more and more like a Oregon commit. Have the coaches narrowed it down to those two tight ends exclusively, or are they still going after Jack Yary?jimmy12 wrote:No inside... just the speculation that’s sold by the recruiting sites. I know they want another TE (Rogers or Washington)
I wonder how the coaches view Jack Yary compared to those two? It seems like Yary is a safer option than Washington (less freakish upside, but less downside also). Rodger is probably more agile than Yary (it is easier to be nimble when you are 3+ inches shorter), but Yary has more ideal size for a TE. It would be interesting to see how the coaches rank those 3, since they all have different pluses and minuses.

Agreed, it could be for Orem, but Sewell was aware of exactly where the camera was located, wasn't he?dthomas=ddixon wrote:That’s what I thought at first; their school literally uses the Oregon O as their logo. Anyone else notice the Oregon-like number font, jersey patches, and nameplate on Orem's jerseys? It's almost like they're a blue-and-gold version of Oregon right now.

I haven’t followed recruiting much this season but I think Oregon needs to get Noah Sewell. Getting a commitment from Jaylen Smith is good because you can never have enough DTs, even if he sits for 2-3 years. Next year though, Oregon needs to clean up on talent, especially a top RB and a couple of DTs.

Re: Any guesses on the end of this class?
We will see how Benson transitions from rinky dink HS to college.
High end RB/DT/OL talent will be the focus of the 2021 class for sure after 2020 was really lacking there on the west coast.
As for the end of this class, I like our chances with Sewell and Ringo. Ringo just seemed like he had a great visit, kinda like Kayvon last year.
I think then we're looking at TE and then maybe an outside shot at someone like Flowe.
