Westview's ace, Sam Johnson, is one of the prizes of this recruiting class for the Ducks. Johnson dominated Lakeridge in the first round, and Westview was able to beat Sheldon and Lake Oswego to advance to tonight's semifinal vs. Jesuit. Westview is up 12-0 currently in the 5th. I don't have any live stats, but I imagine Johnson pitched tonight. Given the large lead the offense got him, I imagine he was taken out after 4 or 5 innings to allow him to start the 6A title game on Saturday, against the winner of Roseburg/Central Catholic.
Anyway. If you're bored this Saturday and are near the Salem-Keizer area, might be fun to go to Volcanoes Stadium and root on a future Duck trying to win state.
