Boise State Broncos
It has been somewhat difficult to avoid not running across a number of sites in which BSU fans are talkin major smack on the Ducks....It wont be a cake walk on the Smurf Turf, but is going to be very satisfying to see their "perfect season" aspirations disappear at the conclusion of their 1st game of the season.....And all the smack revealed for what it actually is....BS....
Not to take anything away from the Bronco FB team, but....Is there a reason why their initials are....BS...U........?
I am thinkin that when they actually play an entire season against competitive teams, and suffer the consequences of such (such as the injuries that can occur with the week in and week out rigors of major college football) they can have a right to their smack..Would have loveD to have played em near the end of the season last year....The outcome....would most likely have been ALOT different.....
In the meanwhile, lets face it...Once a WAC team, Always a WAC team....
GOOOOOO DUCKS.....

Unfortunatly, its a WAC team that came to our PAC-10 house and put us away. We better not be overlooking them. They were very young last year with RS freshman QB playing in Autzen no less, who was not ruffled. I hope like hell-o we kick them to the curb, but I hope we come out blazing. They have won something like 51 or their last 52 games at home. Sure a lot of them were cake walks, but still, they are killer at home and jump out to big leads early and get teams out of sync. Time for serious payback.

Re: Boise State Broncos
Yeah, put us away, after they knocked our 1st year qb out in the 1st quarter and we tried to play Harper (run ONLY, AND THEY KNEW IT) until the 4th quarter...When, all of a sudden, a light came on.....Someone had a thot...Hey, lets give DT a shot...Had the game lasted another 2-3 minutes, BSU would have been dealt a loss....Tinfoilman wrote:Unfortunatly, its a WAC team that came to our PAC-10 house and put us away. They couldnt stop a Duck team led by DT....
Granted, we werent sitting in the catbird seat with experienced D-1 QB's, early last year...And neither were they....
This year is gonna be fun..and "Payback can be a Bitch"....
BSU has absolutely nuthin on us...We play a considerably more difficult schedule every year.....And, its time that we show em that they are not a Pac 10 quality team, year after year, as they have the strange idea that they are...just my opinion, of course...lol

I have a REALLY good feeling that we're gonna crush them relentlessly. It will be another CW 2008.

Yep. I'm putting that game down as a blow-out win for the Ducks. The D, Thurmond in particular, shut em down.

I agree with Tinfoilman. My U of Idaho co-worker's hatred for BSU has definitely rubbed off on me, but I also think the Ducks need to bring their A-game to win. Do I think they will win? Definitely. Did I think they would win last year? Of course. If the last two years have taught us anything (besides how to say what if? for injured QBs) it's don't overlook your opponents!

Re: Boise State Broncos
I might know how you feel. I go to BSU on an engineering scholly (why the hell doesn't UO have an engineering school!?!?!), but both my parents were Ducks. I couldn't be a Beav (against my religion), so I became a Bronco (grad this year!). I wear my Duck stuff all of the time around the school. Nobody would put a friendly wager on the game before hand, but would talk smack after the fact. I fly home for all of the games, and still wear my green & yellow around campus. I take a lot of crap, but it will be worth it after the thumping we're going to put on them.Tinfoilman wrote:Look guys, I can't begin to tell you how bad I want to beat them down. I was transfered from Bend, OR to Boise for work and have to live with these idiot fans everyday. I can't begin to tell you how much I hate BSU. I hate everything about them. Their colors, their stupid field, their stupid "My Little Pony" of a mascott...etc. Look, I have had live with that BSU loss and the pain it caused more than almost anyone of you. If we could come to BSU and lay a Civil War type of beatdown on them, I could die right then and be happy that I had lived such a good live. PS, I get to move back in 18 months. YESSSSS.
Just sayin tho - I have seen time and time again, many teams who think they will impose their will on BSU only to come up short. OSU has been here twice and was handled both times (the only time in my life I EVER pulled for OSU to win at anything and they blew it - that should indicates how bad I hate BSU). And we all saw the Fiesta Bowl against OU on a nuetral field - which I have to still hear about everyday... Have I mentioned I hate BSU? I think the pain was so great following last year's loss that I am simply afraid not to be afraid this time.
Now - do I think we win, YES I really do, but we better bring our A game. The drive home following the game last year with a few BSU fans that rode with, was NOT AT ALL what I was expecting. I still feel sick.
FYI, the crowd noise here is nothing compared to that of even Wazzu. They have a terrible stadium layout, where the noise from the bottom section is dampened and reflected by the concrete. Terrible engineering; must've been an OS grad

I'm stating that the Ducks will kick Bronco a$$ because they WILL NOT take them lightly. That was my whole point. There will be absolutely no motivation needed for the first game. I predict Masoli with 250 passing and 100 rushing with 4 TD's.

Ducks will own the Broncos, as they should have last year. Will kick-start the media talking about how Kelly looks as a head coach.

Re: Boise State Broncos
I think the ducks will win but if the ducks do take them lightly and think this will be a cake walk or a landslide then it will be the ducks who have thier taill between their legs limping home. This is a team that has beat a lot of good teams. They beat Oklahoma as already stated ona myriad of trick plays but they still won and that was on as said a neutral turf. They rarely lose at home which is amazing given all the teams that have come in and tried. Ducks will need to be extremely focused on Boise State and only Boise State and play their A game. If they do not then for our duck fans the ride home will be a long one. I fully believe they will have our full attention and it will be a win but can not take them lightly.

Anyone that isn't worried about this Boise State game must have a lot more confidence in the Oregon offensive line than I do.
