Already working on the 2010 class. Very cool.

I think Ethan could be ours with a good trip.

sarcasm or no, sorry hard to detect.. :geek:
anyway, the picture didn't have the O on it. It was most likely taken before 2007 when it was placed there.
and thanks BDuck for the props!
I think it needs a little something else but not sure, any ideas or suggestions?

HOPE SO! I want to become like Texas and lock of kids early on in the process. Ethan and Curtis would be one of the best and earliest starts I can remember.

I'm all for Ethan being an big time early commit for our 2010 class, but I personally hope he doesn't pull the trigger shortly after this trip. Problem with very early commits is you have to sit back and endure all the other schools throwing everything but the kitchen sink at the player.

In state kids like Curtis White, who have always wanted to attend the local school, are different. With Grant, if he explodes at the combines as many expect, he will have many suitors come calling. Kind of like being the first guy in HS to discover some new babe who moved into your neighborhood. She gives you lots of attention because she's comfortable around you, etc. but then the other guys notice and her attention isn't fixed on you as much as you'd like. For Grant, I kind of hope he goes thru the process a bit and if we still are #1 then by all means come aboard.

While this may be true in some cases I would rather have him commit (whenever) and then deal with the rest because what the difference if he "blows up at the combines" he is going to get a lot of attention regardless! ON top of that he is a Florida kid and just like other hot recruiting areas I really doubt he os flying under the radar...he loves us and has wanted to be a Duck for a while now so lets take advantage and land him right?

Good pts Briar. This is going to be a fun one to follow.

Keep in mind that this trip is not his official, but on their own dime. Just like you said, they really love the Ducks if they're willing to come up here this early, etc. My bet is they will likely wait and see if Brown signs with us. If he does that could deter them a bit, but if this weekend bears out like they hope, he could be a Duck very soon.

Ethan doesn't sound like a guy who is going to back out of a commitment, and he wants to get the recruiting process over with early. His relative, that posts on rival, paints a completly different picture than what you are saying.

I don't disagree with what the articles say and what kind of people Ethan and his family are. They could very well make the early commit and stick like a Pit Bull. Just be aware that he will have mega suitors if he tests out as well as most expect. That's a lot of pressure that they haven't yet experienced and there's no way to predict how they will react until it happens. Part of me would rather him commit once the dust settles a bit. If he truly wants to be a Duck then he'll still be one after he has 10 more offers won't he?
