Another preseason poll projecting Oregon to finish 2nd. This seems to be official preseason poll as the Big Ten posted it. Looks like Dillon Gabriel was named preseason Offensive Player of the Year and Lanning was preseason Coach of the Year.

It's the logical outcome. Ohio State has been there and done that.

Ohio State is also predicted to beat us in the conference championship game. That means they could lose at Autzen, but still win the conference.
Either way, if we end up with no more than 2 losses, I expect us to make the playoffs. The only thing that would suck is we'd likely be a lower seed, so we'd have to play a 5-8 seed, win that, likely on the road, then have to play at one of the top-4, with Ohio State likely being one of those.
The only potential glitch I see about the playoff format is the possibility of having to play the same team 3 times. It would be okay if it were a rubber match to break a 1-1 tie, but what if a team that had lost to another time twice already were able to beat them in a third game for the title? That would feel tarnished. Just my opinion.

The guys who do the seeding should probably try to avoid that.SuperDuck wrote: Mon Jul 22, 2024 4:10 pm Ohio State is also predicted to beat us in the conference championship game. That means they could lose at Autzen, but still win the conference.

So being 1-6 vs top 5 teams and not beating top 10 teams in the road is good? There is a reason they want him fired.pezsez1 wrote: Tue Jul 23, 2024 9:10 pmRecently won back-to-back Big 10 championships and have been to the playoffs at least once. When have they “been there, done that” under Day?

Winning two Big 10 titles and getting to the playoffs is, in fact, quite good.
Some fans irrationally want him fired because he is 1-3 vs Michigan.
