Oregon gets the Boilermakers on a short week in West Lafayette. We'll see if there's any Ohio State win hangover.

They canned their offensive play caller a little while back and actually showed up for the Illinois game. Don't know if Illinois is as good as their record or what but the game was played in Champaign and Illinois survived in overtime 50-49. Ducks better be ready to play. Here's their schedule and results:

Saying they showed up might be a stretch. Illinois ran out to a big lead, and just went to sleep, thinking it was over. But they aren’t a good enough team to shut it down.nogerO wrote: Mon Oct 14, 2024 5:32 pm They canned their offensive play caller a little while back and actually showed up for the Illinois game. Ryan Browne looked awesome in his first start. I watched the 2nd half highlights of Illinois game and he almost helped Purdue pull of the upset.
I think with him in the game, there’s at least room for this matchup to be more interesting vs with Card at QB.
I’ll be at the game with a group of 7 other ducks fans!

Honestly forgot about this being another Friday game. Ducks will continue to get dicked over by the schedule for years to come in the B1G with the west coast teams filling out all of the night games. I'm going to be honest. I'm a bit nervous about traveling cross country on a short week following such an emotional game. I could see this game being way closer than it should be, and could make us sweat.

Agreed. This is the epitome of a trap game. I think we’ll be fine but am expecting it to be more competitive than you’d expect.droop10 wrote:Honestly forgot about this being another Friday game. If James got 5 ypc vs OSU, then I think the OL should be able to run the ball and help mitigate any of those "hangover" effects.

Dan Lanning weekly press conference:
-Holden will be disciplined internally
-Kasper is out long term with a lower leg injury (was on a scooter with a boot on the sideline Saturday)
-Burch will play again but likely won't be back this week
-Didn't confirm nor deny if 12 men on the field penalty was intentional on their part
-Big Ten did say the ineligible man downfield penalty wasn't correct.
-Jaeden Moore will see a bigger role with Burch out.

Definitely a trap game! But don’t read too much into that score, Illinois had a big lead and did what Oregon did against Oregon State in 2022, plus Purdue had some fluke plays including a recovered onside kick at the end that looked like it was kicked by Brucie. But they do look like a new team, their young QB is fairly dynamic and they have a legit pass rush. Ducks can’t come out flat, I’m trusting Lanning to have this team prepared and play well.

In Lanning's press conference, it sounds like Kyle Kasper is out for the season in all likelihood. He's being coy on Burch, it seems, and giving no expected timeline.

And the general vibes ive read is if there was a p12 after dark personified in the b1g, its at Perdue. I would be happy with a survive and advance night.dthomas=ddixon wrote: Mon Oct 14, 2024 6:36 pmAgreed. This is the epitome of a trap game. Would be nice to see Gary Bryant Jr back but I also want to see more of Lowe as the two of them are likely going to be our most experienced WRs to start next year.
