Season Ticket holders
Am I the only one who was disappointed and a little pissed seeing all that Red in Autzen? I know one or two of you said something about it in the game thread, I’m surprised more haven’t, maybe had we lost it would have got more attention. I’ve seen estimates between 20% and 30% OSU fans vs Duck fans. Those of you who were there, is this accurate? I can tell you the first picture of Autzen in the back ground when the OSU homer announcers first started introducing the game it looked more like 40% and I was pissed. As the video zoomed in on the stadium it didn’t look as bad but still a bad look. I get selling the s*** games like Nevada, Montana St or Portland St. (I did the same thing when I had season tickets) but OSU, 2 vs 3 WTF Duck fans. I even get that things come up or you couldn’t get the time off…. whatever but 20K ish fans couldn’t make it….please. Looks to me that these fans took a payday over supporting the team. They bought and paid for them so I guess they can sell them to whomever they want but know this, if I was still a season ticket holder and the people who had tickets around me sold them to OSU fans, I wouldn’t stop talking trash about it at the next game and every game there after.

Re: Season Ticket holders
I mentioned this in another thread, but it sounds like a number of Ohio State fans actually purchased season tickets themselves, and have since or are now selling the other games to Duck fans. I am sure these Midwestern teams have all the strategies down in that regard; they probably do this kind of stuff to each other all the time.

If true then our AD needs to change how they sell season tickets to make sure they aren’t selling to people in zip codes in enemy territory. Other B1G fans travel like Ohio State fans.Phalanx wrote: Fri Oct 18, 2024 9:30 am I mentioned this in another thread, but it sounds like a number of Ohio State fans actually purchased season tickets themselves, and have since or are now selling the other games to Duck fans.

Someone who knows more about the ticket sale process can weigh in here, but I would think that the AD would sell season tickets to whoever ponies up the dough, especially since there are Duck fans all over the country. In fact, they probably like it better if people from other places buy season tickets, since those people probably spend more in Eugene than locals would.OregonFan4Life wrote: Fri Oct 18, 2024 9:32 amIf true then our AD needs to change how they sell season tickets to make sure they aren’t selling to people in zip codes in enemy territory. Were there substantially more visitors than normal. Sure. I personally didn’t notice them too much. By and large they were quiet. Maybe it’s because they were spread out throughout the stadium. There were pockets of loud individuals but as a group they were chill. In terms of sound, it was nothing close to when the Ducks show up at a road game.

When I first turned it on I was like oh crap there are more OhSU fans than Oregon. That was with a wide view of the crowd. When they showed closer views of the crowd you could see it was a case of the red standing out. With the Oregon crowd mostly wearing black the few wearing yellow and green were what you saw in comparison to the red in the long shots.
The fact that the noise level from the Oregon fans was at record levels makes the number of OhSU fans irrelevant anyway.

Get used to it. Big 10 teams travel well (which is GOOD in my opinion). I love that we're in a conference now with passionate fan bases. Also, others have said it that Ohio State has an extensive alumni base all across the country.

I think part of it was a lot fans wore black, so next to red it probably made it look on tv like there were more OSU fans than actually were there. Can't imagine it could get as loud as it did if 30-40% of the fans were away, or even 20% to be honest. I'd venture there were more than normal, but not more than a standard deviation.
