Jimmy Butler is a little bitch
Miami not going anywhere this year, he’s making $49M, and wants to be traded. Dallas, Golden State, and Phoenix are his requested destinations. As ESPN related, each of those three teams would have to shed a quarter of their roster, financially, to get him. Dude is what, 35? I heavily loathe today’s NBA, and it makes me laugh when these guys sign for ridiculous amounts of money, then quit on their teams. The NBA is broken. NCAA football isn’t far behind (just to throw an odd wrench into the conversation).

These guys chasing rings will eventually learn that their massive contracts make it nearly impossible to be traded to contenders.

This is why I don't watch the NBA anymore. Haven't for about 10 years. Not real basketball. Jacking up 3's and dunking. And now they're talking about a point line or 4-point circle? No rules are enforced equally among the players. Just another form of pro Rasslin' Keep it.

Same, I can’t watch the NBA anymore. My fav player of all time is Tim Duncan and since he retired I just don’t enjoy the NBA anymore, mainly the way the game is played.nogerO wrote: Sun Jan 05, 2025 9:32 am This is why I don't watch the nba anymore. Haven't for about 10 years. Not real basketball.

The players like Dirk, Kobe, Melo, Jordan that built careers on the post fade are gone. Its now a 3 pt contest. The nba as built is fundamentally brokennogerO wrote: Sun Jan 05, 2025 9:32 am This is why I don't watch the nba anymore. Haven't for about 10 years. Not real basketball.

This is karma for their Lillard recruitment.

and all the flopping, whining, and showboating celebrations after every trivial point scored. NBA games have become pretty unbearable to watch leisurely.nogerO wrote: Sun Jan 05, 2025 9:32 am This is why I don't watch the NBA anymore. Haven't for about 10 years. Not real basketball. To me it's like a certain "culture" is being forced down the viewers throats. I'll never watch another game in it's current state.alxtw wrote: Mon Jan 06, 2025 9:17 pmand all the flopping, whining, and showboating celebrations after every trivial point scored. Re: Jimmy Butler is a little bitch
This made me chuckle. Miami could have become a legit title contender if only Pat Riley would have made a serious, good-faith offer for Dame instead of playing footsie with Dame's agent & trying to lowball Joe Cronin. Awesome to see Riles getting a taste of his own medicine now. Couldn't happen to a more quality organization. #HeatCulture

Lillard would have done the same thing for Miami that he's done for Milwaukee. Put a crater in their roster's depth in order to clear space for him, and then cost them massive luxury tax as the years go by without ever actually improving the team. Riley took his shot with the lowball offer/agent collusion and was right not to go higher. Butler will be 36 in September, his 'playoff Jimmy' days are probably over anyway. I have no issue with him wanting to go to a team that wins, but not everyone gets to do that, and the demand to only go to a couple of specific teams is presumptuous for someone under contract - the dude wants his cake and eat it too. He should just wait until the offseason when he can be a free agent if he is willing to forgo the massive player option for next year. Until then, take the trade that helps the team if you want out.

I actually think a Lillard-Butler-Adebayo (1-3-5) trio is better than the Lillard-Middleton-Giannis (1-3-4) trio because Bam is who would really help limit Dame's defensive liabilities while also benefiting him the most inside on drives.
That said this is hilarious for Miami to end up in this situation a year later.

Except that you probably have to trade Bam to obtain Lillard, since Cronin wasn't interested in 'Herro and pocket lint'. The lowball offer was the only one Riley could make, and it wasn't enough.Duck07 wrote: Thu Jan 09, 2025 10:22 am I actually think a Lillard-Butler-Adebayo (1-3-5) trio is better than the Lillard-Middleton-Giannis (1-3-4) trio because Bam is who would really help limit Dame's defensive liabilities while also benefiting him the most inside on drives.
