Oregon has some bragging rights..
Oregon is the only team in the last two years to beat every team they played that wasn’t a national champion. Not even Indiana or Ohio state can say that…

I wonder how much it affects postseason attendance at this point. We're obviously not a huge fanbase - one of the smallest enrollments among P4 schools, and split a small state with another university for fans - but we've travelled decently at times. I wonder if apathy is setting in at all as the Ducks continue to get oh-so-close but don't get over the hump.OregonFan4Life wrote: Mon Jan 19, 2026 10:28 pm I just want a natty so badly….

It’s hard to travel to two CFP games that far away with the hope of still making the natty that’s in Miami. I’m sure I was like most duck fans where I was waiting to travel until they made it to the final. Especially hard when the only west coast cfp game is the rose bowl.StevensTechU wrote: Tue Jan 20, 2026 8:40 amI wonder how much it affects postseason attendance at this point. I could see that, expectation combined with the traveling costs and general costs of living at Oregon and how expensive it is compared to Indiana has to play a cost as well.StevensTechU wrote:I wonder how much it affects postseason attendance at this point. But I do know a couple of duck fans that went to the Peach Bowl, but I also know duck fans that purchased tickets to the natty, not expecting Oregon to make it but hoping they would and not wanting to miss out if the did.
A Peach Bowl trophy would’ve been fun as we don’t have one of those in the trophy room, but we are kinda getting to the point where it’s natty or bust it feels like.

Re: Oregon has some bragging rights..
I think it goes a little deeper than that. #1 would be financial means combined with 2 to 4 away games with a high probability of them all being on the other side of the country and having to pay a premium for airfare. I’m guessing 70% of Duck fans have never set foot on the campus minus sporting events. As for the Alumni how many are sports fans, of those how many are in a career that affords them the means to spend roughly $3k in round 1 for game 2 seats, airfare, hotel and food in the first round to $10k+ in the championship game. Rumor has it up deck seat in Miami we’re going for $4k each. The median household income in Oregon was just under $90k in 2023 with the per capita being $65.5k. Even if you take the higher median income how many of those folks can blow more than 10% of their yearly income on a single sporting event.StevensTechU wrote: Tue Jan 20, 2026 8:40 amI wonder how much it affects postseason attendance at this point. Well this upcoming year the Natty is in Vegas. And hopefully if we make playoffs, we would be lined up for a Fiesta or Rose Bowl game this year.
It's setup to be more favorable next year.

Nice, but uhh…I’d rather have their hardware. Screw participation trophys. They aren’t worth sh*t.dd10snoop28 wrote: Tue Jan 20, 2026 12:56 pmThis is an impressive statistic.UOducksTK1 wrote: Mon Jan 19, 2026 9:44 pm Oregon is the only team in the last two years to beat every team they played that wasn’t a national champion. And I suppose it's worth pointing out that for the third consecutive year, we've beaten every team except one who made it to the CFP final.
Yes . . . that hump to get over. Fortunately we have a head coach who is probably more focused on that goal and more disappointed on how we've come up short than we'll ever know, who's young and undoubtedly learning stuff all the time that will -- hopefully, finally -- enable us to reach that goal.

Fortunately, we've also got a wealthy Uncle, who's more heavily invested and hungrier for a natty than any of us.Greenblood wrote: Thu Jan 22, 2026 10:27 am And I suppose it's worth pointing out that for the third consecutive year, we've beaten every team except one who made it to the CFP final.

Re: Oregon has some bragging rights..
I think they are good nuggets for Duck fans to pass around in discussions. I don't know how well they play with the rest of the college football world?
• Three seasons, only 5 losses, all to teams that made the National Championship game. Indiana 16-0 (twice), Ohio State 14-2, Washington (twice) 14-1.
• The last five seasons (70 games), I believe the only loss to a team not ranked in the top 25 at kickoff was Stanford in 2021, the Moorhead game (and even that one probably is a W without Pac-12 refs doing the Pac-12 ref thing 3 times in the final 1:33).
For Duck fans, doesn't that just scream the team just needs to get over that final step? Penix, a 6th year senior, and all his crazy throws, Will Howard, a 5th year senior on a 4 game tear of QB ratings of 189, 207, 150, and 205, and Heisman Mendoza. That last step is just looking a lot like QB. If the right guy hits at the right time...
