Oregon definitely needs 1 coach whose name Don Essig and Jerry Allen can't pronounce.

They could definitely screw up Carlesimo.

My wishlist (in order)

1. Jamie Dixon
2. Mark Turgeon
3. Tubby Smith
4. Mark Few
5. Steve Alford
6. Kevin Stallings (Vanderbilt)
7. Jeff Capel (Oklahoma)
....
100. Anybody but Scott Drew. The guy is the Rick Neuheisel of basketball coaches.

Brad Butler...young and has a great future. I wish we could have snagged the VCU coach before he went to UGA last year I believe.

I hope we go really hard after Turgeon. I think the fact that Kansas owns the Big12 like they do (they've won it the last 6 years i think) could work in our favor. He's only going to get texas a&m so far. The pac10 right now is WIDE open. There's the couple really good programs like ucla & maybe udub but after that...? He could come in here with the arena, nike, existing talent, fan support, etc & have a chance to make Oregon the #1 team in the conference right away. His recent comments regarding the job opening here didn't exactly put anything to rest. It was the typical avoidance "I'm focused on this team & these players.... but once the seasons over I may very well be interested in the Oregon HC opening."

4)Chris Collins duke assistant coach ok i can dream
5)Jamie Dixon Pitt wont happen
6)Ben Jacobsen northern Iowa.. team plays hard he can coach
7)Jeff Capel Oklahoma
8)Randy Bennett st Marys i can see Oregon going after him
9)Brad Painter Purdue another wont happen
10)Tubby Smith Minnesota... dont see it happening

I really like Dixon, but something tells me that he won't be available along with Few and Tubby. I just hope Oregon doesn't settle for a coach. Just say no to PJ Carlisimo. Mike Dunleavy is probably available now.

Mops suggested Collins a few minutes ago, and I think I would be ok with him or Wojo if we cannot get our top choices. They are young, would probably have a lot of energy, learned from Coach K and would probably really do well at recruiting because of Duke.

Wojo? Please elaborate - I know who you're talking about, but he's not even listed in the Top 10 or so in the discussion above - intriguing, though - bring your argument, dude.

Personally, I like what Turgeon has done - his style of play can win in this league.

Just because he hasn't been discussed doesn't mean he isn't being considered. People at Duke love him and believe that if Coach K was to retire, then they would want him seriously looked at for it. Him and Collins are going to be HC someday, so why not Oregon.
