Two reasons we aren't ranked:

1) Pollsters aren't voting for Oregon due to the Blount incident. IMO, they are choosing not to vote for the Ducks because they were appalled by the scene. So, the rest of the team is being held accountable in the polls for that one OFF the field encounter.

2) Have you guys been watching the Ducks play offense? Sheesh! Comparing last year's fireworks to this years lack of first downs, lack of points, increase in turnovers, ZERO COMPLETIONS IN THE SECOND HALF AGAINST UTAH! I completely understand why pollsters are not voting for the Ducks. I've been hearing it from friends across the country...they are NOT impressed.

A win against Cal will change that, but is a win against Cal possible if Masoli can't put the ball into the hands of anyone but the defenders? Can he run without putting it on the carpet? He needs to step up! We need him back to last year's form. Find Ed Dickson for crying out loud! Get Tunei involved!

Quick question...How many southern and east coast teams get ranked because of their D? How many times have we seen an inept offense be carried by their D to rankings and BCS bowls...(Ohio State just about every year)

It's almost too bad that we have made such a name for our offense while even when we have a great D it gets no love.

Don't worry about ranking so much, the best Duck teams were those who people scoffed or wrote off and in the end I'd rather have a Duck team that won games rather than ranking.
Bottom line is "Win Baby", then respect follows.
If the defense can continue to improve and pull games out,... well I remember a number of Auburn teams in the past who had pathetic offenses but still managed high rankings.

If the offense can't be as high octane as in the last couple of years, I think it needs to be more time consuming, to limit the time the D will be on the field, and allow the numbers to get better.

Even with the latest performance by the D, which I am thrilled about, the stats show middle of the PAC, at best, and the D still spends too much time on the field.

If Allioti's boys perform as well aganst Cal as they did against Utah, perceptions may start to change...

This is definitely the worst stretch of offense I've ever seen with Oregon's spread. Hopefully he gets fixed soon, because Cal will be around in 5 days.

No way we deserve to be ranked.

We barely beat the worst team in the worst conference(big 10), and got destroyed by a non BCS-conference team.

For those that want to see the Ducks ranked, # 25 on Sporting News list. The issue also ran a story on Chip & the refund as well as listing Oregon as # 2 in the PAC 10 behind Cal.
