He's flipped to Tennessee. Not unexpected but not ideal with all their TE options committed elsewhere.

At a certain point I feel like recruiting will become less and less popular before signing day with how often kids change their mind and commit prematurely, this isn’t even with Oregon it’s other schools too. Like DMoneyduck has said before, at this point there’s always a part of me that things “will he even stick with Oregon?” Whenever there’s a verbal commit before signing day.

It's already far less popular because of the transfer portal. Pretty much seems 50/50 a kid will stick when they sign. Playing time somewhere else for these guys coming off the bench will always be a huge draw

Recruiting is fun to follow but the transfer portal is becoming where wins and championships are made, nowadays...

Yup. Even though this will probably be our most disappointing decommitment from this class, the transfer portal forgives a multitude of decommitments. Not to mention Oregon is in the thick of it with the top TE in the 2026 class.

I'll be curious where Oregon goes with TE recruiting. I just hope they don't get another lackluster athlete with minimal upside, as they did in the last class. Strategically, I think at this point you wait until a month into the 2024 season and evaluate the talent that's available. So many kids pop in their last year. If nothing else, Austin Simmons, the 6'5 brick house from West Albany, is a fluid athlete and would be a fantastic "safety pick" if another tight end doesn't have senior tape that exceeds their rankings.
