I think so too, though I think Penn State would be tough for either of them to beat a second time.

I think Texas could spoil things for either Ohio State or Oregon. They're not the most impressive team in their outings against top teams, but their talent is undeniable. I honestly think they're a lot like Ohio State but the B+ version.

OL Douglas Utu, QB Akili Smith Jr., OL Ziyare Addison, TE Vander Ploog, QB Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele, DB Trey McNutt, RB Jordon Davison, DL Matthew Johnson, DL Nasir Wyatt, OL Demetri Manning, WR Cooper Perry, and DB Dorian Brew

are all early enrollees for the 2025 class that are practicing with the team right now.

I was wondering how many early enrollees would should show up for Oregon's bowl practices. 12 is a pretty decent amount given the size of the class and how many they had last year for the Fiesta Bowl.

I personally say Ohio State, I feel like that program and Ryan Day have a lot more to lose than Lanning and Oregon. If the ducks lose it would really suck but a lot of people are optimistic about Oregon’s future. If Ohio State loses the fanbase will call for Ryan Day’s head on a platter again. As long as there is NIL with no cap Ohio State will be fine with their rich tradition and funds but in their minds if they lose this game their program is done fore.
Oregon national championships=0

Yea. Oregon needs to do it THIS YEAR.

I’m surprised to see everyone but me say Ohio State needs this win more, Lanning is going to be at Oregon for a while and has a really bright future. I don’t think this will be the best team Lanning has at Oregon, I think there’s a great chance Lanning has a better team in 2026. I understand the importance of winning it all this year and if the ducks don’t I’ll be very disappointed but I feel like there’s more optimism about the future of Oregon if they don’t win the Rose Bowl than there would be for Ohio State if they lose to Oregon again.

That's because you're confusing Ryan Day for Ohio State and you've somehow lost the plot that we're 3 games from completing the undisputed greatest season in CFB history.

These 2 guys are the ones to to hopefully get some positive reports on during these playoff practices and during the spring because they "might" have a chance of earning a starting spot by getting here early to acclimate. Manning in particular is just a massive human being who can hopefully turn into another Josh Connerly (Seattle OT) for us and I hope we play him at Tackle until he shows he's better off inside.

I think this also a good take with Texas. They could be under the radar because of the teams they've played.
But I do think the winner of this will be favored no matter what.

Wow 12 froshies dumped right into it, that's cool. They're not eligible, right?

The FR that showed up are not eligible for the playoff games. They'll just practice with the team and be on the sidelines for any games.

As someone who lives in Seattle, after we win a NC, I'll be ecstatic to never hear that the O on our uniforms represents the number of NC's we have. We need this, and uncle Phil needs this.

From what I’ve read/heard, I thought Manning sounded more of a project with high potential than a guy who would hit the ground running.
